About the Job –
Description
- Interprets data and turns it into information which can offer ways to improve how the data is used within the business, thus affecting business decisions. Gathers information from various sources and interprets patterns and trends. Develops reports and dashboards to visualize findings.
- Conducts descriptive and diagnostic analytics on data sources.
- Applies machine learning and machine learning tools on data and metadata to improve data quality.
- Identifies patterns and trends in data sets.
- Creates reports and dashboards on analysis results using business intelligence technologies.
- Develops data profiles for data tables and elements in the data lake.
- Creates data catalog entries, ensures data catalog metadata quality.
- Analyzes diverse data sets to identify data quality, coherency and integrability issues and reduce data redundancy
- Collaborates to develop data cleansing methods and rules.
- Assists in creation and maintenance of documentation of key decisions, rules, controls and processes.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
- College, university or equivalent degree preferred or equivalent work experience in relevant technical discipline.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
- Relevant experience preferred such as working in a temporary student employment, intern, co-op, or other extracurricular team activities.
- Knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in data science is highly preferred and includes:
- SQL query language execution on NOSql and SQL sources
- Exposure to Agile software development
- Exposure to IoT technology
- Data profiling tools, technologies and coding
- Data Catalog tools and technologies
- Business intelligence tools and technologies
- Exposure to Big Data open source
- Clustered compute cloud-based implementation experience
- Continuous optimization and improvements to a highly complex, multi-systems data model, supporting, Product Compliance & Regulatory Affairs (PCRA) IT Applications.
- Support large projects and programs in the PCRA area which impact our overall data model. Understand all elements required to build successful data model. Capable of discovering and understanding various source systems which feed into our data model.
- Skilled in data pattern recognition. Capable of data model simplification and optimization
- Experience with MSBI and PowerBI is preferred, as well as various ETL tools
- Works with team leaders to provide the necessary diagrams, documentation, analysis, recommendations, designs necessary to deliver project work.
- Skilled in SQL and other query languages.
